Business Organization

The business organization it’s based in seven sectors inside of the own business. These are:

  1. Human Resources
  2. Sales and Marketing
  3. Research and Development
  4. Production/Operations
  5. Customer Service
  6. Finance and Accounts
  7. Administration and IT

1. HUMAN RESOURCES

The functions of the Human Resources section are:

  1. Recruitment and retention: His job is establish the different profiles demanded for the working place and finds the better person for the job.
  2. Dismissal
  3. Redundancy
  4. Motivation
  5. Professional development and training
  6. Health and safety and conditions at work
  7. Liaison with trade unions

2. SALES AND MARKETING

The tasks of the section of Sales and Marketing are realize market research and develop promotion strategies, pricing strategies and sales strategies. Besides they have to adapt all these strategies to the product that is wanted to sell

3. RSEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

The task of this section is to develop a new product according to the objectives of the business based on the premises of competitive advantage, value added, product testing, efficiency gains and cost savings

4. PRODUCTION/OPERATIONS

This section is dedicated to acquiring resources, monitoring costs, make projections on future output, develop production methods and improve the efficiency in the production process

5. CUSTOMER SERVICE

They are dedicated to monitoring distribution, offer an after-sales service and other services like handling consumer enquiries, offer advices to consumers, dealing with customer complaints or publicity and public relations

6. FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS

This section is the one in charge of monitories the “Cash Flow” (income/revenue of capital), to preparer the accounts and raising finance. Also, this section is linked with all other functional areas.

7. ADMINISTRATION AND IT

This section is the one in charge of Managing estates (cleaning, health and safety, maintenance, security), reception, clerical work (reporting, recording, record keeping, communication), overview of quality control and use of It systems.

Business Objectives

THE BUSINESS ACTIVITY



The Business activity can be separated in four sectors. This sectors are:

-Primary Sector: Extraction of raw materials from the Earth – mining, quarrying, fishing, agriculture, forestry
-Secondary Sector: Processing of raw materials into finished or semi-finished products – manufacturing
-Tertiary Sector: Service industries – transport, finance, distribution, retailing, wholesaling, communications, hi-tech industries
-Quaternary Sector: Health, education, research, leisure...

Also there are companies dedicated to different sectors; these companies realize a multiple business activity like BP or Repsol who dedicates to oil exploration and drilling (primary), refining oil (secondary) and distribution of petrol (tertiary). Also they work too in quaternary sector researching and developing new products.

The private sector

The most important aim for the private sector is obtain PROFIT, but for obtain profit the companies have to take into consideration other aims like the environment, his own image and reputation, his efficiency or the price of sales and sales revenue and how obtain the raw materials necessary for the production,.

The public sector

-The business activity of the public sector is owned, financed and controlled by the state through government or local authorities.

-Is aim not is obtain profit, is offer services to the society following the directives of Access and equity for everyone with no matter of his status, location, race or religion whit quality and offer cheaper prices than private sector.



-The public sector offer services of education (university, schools), health, roads, economic development and tourism, cemeteries etc.
